Toronto Alternative Arts and Fashion Week is a platform for inventive, pioneering and contemporary expression. This annual multi-arts event features 200 national and international fashion designers, visual artists, bands and performers each year. The festival delivers a packed schedule of runway shows, live performances, music, photography exhibits, video screenings and installation exhibits, to celebrate leaders in a wide range of art forms. Held every April, the event welcomes 5,000 people including stylists, buyers, curators, critics, members of the media, the arts, music and fashion related industry as well as the stylish general public.
FASHION DESIGN From contemporary fashion to street wear, to experimental ideas and avant-garde collections, |FAT| Alternative Arts and Fashion Week features over 40 runway shows from the best emerging and established, national and international designers. |FAT|’s runway showcase sets the standard for a new era of cutting edge presentations on the catwalk.
MUSIC |FAT|’s sound stage presented by SCION brings together trend blazing talent across all genres of music. The most promising bands, djs and solo artists bring their unique sounds to SCION's stage for four nights of live music.

PHOTOGRAPHY & V IDEO Fashion photography, short films, videos and large projections from over 50 acclaimed artists occupy the whole environment to stimulate the visual senses.
INSTALLATION ART Sculptures, installations and large multimedia art works that reflect on the notion of fashion are exhibited throughout the event. |FAT| 2010 presents “The Dressing Room Project” a special site-specific project where 7 artists reinterpret 7 traditional dressing rooms through installations, videos, performances and sculptures within Studio City’s film studio complex.
PERFORMANCE Cutting-edge, dynamic and forward-looking performances exhibit how fashion can extend its borders beyond the runway.
FAT 2010 will be held in Studio City, located at 1 Pardee Avenue in Liberty Village. Over 15,000 square feet will play host to |FAT| runway shows, exhibitions, installations, bands, social spaces, live photo shoots and backstage areas.
